More Hades II posting but now looking into the scenery shown so far. Specifically, the focus is on Hekate’s boarding school, of which it is, given that Melinoe calls her Headmistress in this shot where we have Melinoe conversing with Hekate herself
First off, I assume the boarding school shall be this game’s version of the “House of Hades,” where Melinoe would return to at the end of each run. This area in particular, likely a mirror to the “throne room” of the House of Hades, where you could converse with Nyx and Hades, and also links to the other rooms in the house. In addition to talking to Hekate, we can see that she’s surrounded by witch shades, very similar to the ones Zagreus fought in the first
Considering how the majority of witches are punished, per the codex entry of the first game, it’s a wonder what Hades must think his daughter training among them now. Anyways, these witches resemble the splitters from the first game, the ones you’d encounter in Elysium:
only these, with the moon sigil on their foreheads, are devoted to Hekate.
Other things to note in this room are how it’s filled with cauldrons of various sizes and uses, with a center one glowing with some green fluid
I’m guessing this pot is likely the equivalent of the Mirror of Twilight of the first game, where Melinoe can concoct some brew that’ll make her stronger depending on the materials she collects on her quest. That, or she can upgrade her weapons that way. We see in a shot in the trailer that might suggest it could also allow for teleportation (occurs at 1:32). Given the other cauldrons in the room, this main area is likely a classroom of sorts, where the other students can practice alongside Hekate in brewing magical potions.
Next room I want to talk about is the Frog room, or more likely, the dormitories.
Here we see two beds off the bat. One with a matress, another of straw. I’m guessing the floor mattress is Melinoe’s bed, on the account that it’s position in a game accessible way that resembles that of Zagreus’s in the first, and also because in the things next to the bed, there is a framed picture of Froggles in the back too specific for it to be anything else but by Mel herself:
Additionally, if spy through Melinoe’s things, we see a case filled with bottles - likely potions, medicines, powders for spells etc. - a suitcase likely with clothes (neat, unlike Zagreus’s haha), books tagged and marked at different places - likely her notes for her magic classes - a mirror with hands? I don’t know what it could be, but likely something similar to this aspect of Mel’s power we see in the trailer:
Doubt we’ll interact with it though. There’s also baskets of what looks like lavender and a hanging vine of garlic, possibly material for spells. Melinoe in the full shot stands in a ring that likely allows her to teleport from the main room where Hekate is to dorms, I sense that’s going to be a reoccuring thing in the game.
In addition to having Mel’s things, the dorm room is also where we can talk to Dora, who sits over some blankets next to Mel’s side of the room.
It’s possible that she’s Melinoe’s roommate and the owner of the unoccupied straw bed we see in the corner. As the goddess of ghosts, Melinoe likely surrounds herself with them a lot, it’s part of her mythology after all.
Other rooms include a dining room, where we have this conversation with Nemesis:
I say a dining room cause there’s a guy on top that look like Patroclus, but whether it’s him or a placeholder we’ll have to wait and see.
There’s a ring of stones on top that suggest his area is connected to the main one where Hekate stands, so it’s technically part of the main room.
The other place we know is the area where Moros stands, likely where the walkway we see in the main room connects to, as he’s seen standing next to what looks like a List of Minor prophecies from the first game.
Which makes sense, as Moros connected to the Fates in the Greek mythologies. Otherwise, this location looks like a main hall, possibly leading to a teleportation device that’ll take Melinoe back to her dorm likely.
As far as I know, that’s all I have for the scenery. Hopefully we’ll get some more info soon.

——————
A throne made of gold and satin-like velvet, all tyrian purple. Too large this seat felt, as did the hall full of people standing under gilded light filtering through the large stained glass window. Here you sat, next to your father in an even more ornate throne, in front of a crowd of people who knew your name, your face, but nothing of your soul.
They couldn’t name that green was your favorite color because of the trees you would catch glimpses of through the windows of your tutors room, ever strong through the seasons never having to carry the weight of a kingdom. They would never be able to name why ships made you weary and claustrophobic or that your favorite flowers of springtime are those that bloom away from the castles gardens when eyes aren’t watching. They couldn’t guess your favorite piece of music, the one you never heard at those god forsaken balls. They never could place that instead your favorite would be the one that came ever so gracefully from under your mothers fingertips at the piano that used to spark so much joy in the hearts of the people, but now sat lonely collecting dust. They didn’t know you longed to reach the stars someday, yearning for their delicate freedom in the inky black sky. They couldn’t tell that you wondered if they felt out of place too.
More so than anything else, they could never guess how much you hated staring at the men kneeling before you now, begging for a wife, a servant to their needs of pleasure, for the sake of “peace.” They would never know the disgust that sent a shiver down your spine at the twisted grin of these men that took your fingers in their too rough grasp and kissed that back of your hand, their sin tainted lips lingering moments too long. Their hands twitching at their sides with their sickening thoughts as they watched you stand from your throne, adjusting the circlet of silver adorning your perfectly crafted hair.
Your father, your king, grinned widely at the propositions made my these men, happy at the prospect of one of them taking your hand, winning your heart. Happy at the prospect of selling you away. A fair trade he’d call it. A duty.
He’d never understand, you came to realize. He was the man who had chosen your mother, the same way these creatures of lust in front of you are now. Readily ridding the world of her happiness and songs, harshly forcing her into a life of servitude, solitude, for the sake of duty.
“None of them would get it”
You’d say to yourself silently as you excused yourself to the washroom, wiping your disgraced palm clean of the suitors that you had been dancing with’s sweat, your nose scrunched in disgust. In the washroom you would stand, hands now pressed to the too warm mirror in that stuffy room, staring at your reflection. Your reflection stared back at you tauntingly, the flushed cheeks and too perfect hair, until your eyes got caught on the thin band gracing your head. The piece of metal that used to be the only thing tying you to your mother’s lineage, now was only an unwelcome reminder of your duties lined up in the other room, waiting for your hand in marriage. You sighed harshly, ripping the despicable band of silver off of your head, ruining the perfect waves your hair was lying in before. You laughed too hard, running your hands harshly over the layers of paint adorning your face. Your breaths became ragged as you tore the cloth sigil from the bodice of your dress, the only thing left showing your status in this deplorable kingdom and soon you realized, the only thing holding you back.
You stared at your own reflection, a haggard appearance of a forgotten princess staring back at you, and you smiled. Quickly, you rushed to the door, checking for footsteps, before finding your way to the nearest maids chambers. Stepping inside you grabbed a few essentials and a cloak as black as the night’s sky. Once you felt satisfied in what you had taken, you steeled your nerves before quickly and cautiously making your way to the stables, now abandoned with everyone attending the event.
Your eyes scanned the area quickly before settling on a horse with hair as white as snow and eyes the color of indigo. Your form slowed, your breaths coming out in soft pants as you made your way towards the creature in awe of its beauty. You reached your hand out slowly, to gain the trust of the majestic beauty. Suddenly and strikingly you heard a voice sounding from behind you.
“My lady! Where do you think you’re going?” A rough, calloused hand gripped your shoulder tightly, startling you. You turned around quickly, your arms raising defensively. As the offending party grabbed your wrists to gain your attention your excitement died down and your breaths came out easier when you took in the features of Changbin, your personal first knight assigned to you. Your expression became one of relief as you took in the worried, curious look resting on his angular features in the low light of the stables.
“I’m leaving, Changbin. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I can’t go through with this. Please don’t try to stop me..” You said gripping his hands in yours, staring into his eyes hoping to portray the feelings pooling in the base of your throat, causing your words to come out choked. “I’ve already made up my mind.”
“I’m sure I couldn’t change your mind if I wanted to, princess. Here, take this.” He said, smiling softly. A gentle sigh left his lips as one hand reached into one of the many holsters on his person, while the other drifted to comfortingly rest on the crown of your head. His large, rough hands pressed a small holstered knife into your palm. “It’s a blade your mother used to use. I was supposed to give it to you tonight at the ball, but this felt like the right time.”
For the first time that night you smiled genuinely, staring into his eyes softly in thanks while turning to prepare the horse for your disappearance. Changbin’s hands found your waist, hoisting you up and onto the back of the horse before he quietly led you out of the stables, checking for prying eyes and quietly uttering you a safe trip. You made simple promises to return safely to him, unsure of how much truth they held, but sure of the comfort filling your chest with the smile gracing his face.
With that, you turned your head to the dark forest ahead and took a deep breath to steady yourself before going on this possibly dangerous adventure. Then, like lightning striking your nervous system, you heard a voice you had hoped to never hear again.
“Y/n!” Your father’s voice rang out over the courtyard causing you to gasp and whip your head in the direction of the sound. Changbin’s worried eyes stayed trained on your face as your indecision bubbled in your chest at your father’s commanding tone. Quickly muttering some words Changbin sent the horse off running in the direction of the forest, your confused mind allowing the actions to happen wordlessly as you watched Changbin draw his sword against his own king to protect you and allow you the freedom you had longed for.
---------
It had been moments, maybe hours, you were unsure. The sky bared no stars as you stared hopelessly heaven bound with your eyes blurred. The chilly air hurt your cheeks now dry from the rivers of tears at your actions. Your steed came to a slow, wearily looking around the dangerous wood. All that was to be heard around you were the low grumbles of the predators and the soft snapping of twigs. In the haze of your misery you were lost and cold, unsure of even your own safety as you whipped your head uneasily in every direction of unknown noises.
It was then that a loud howl sounded from somewhere nearby, a chorus of others following suit. You tried catching sight of the beasts making the horrid sound, but soon it seemed as though the guttural growls were surrounding you, closing in on their next meal. You yelped loudly as the horse became unsteady and afraid, dashing off towards the nearest escape. From your lips feeble shrieks of protest left, but to no avail. The creature’s of the hunt followed suit, a game of cat and mouse. Suddenly, one creature, the largest, leaped out from beyond a too dark clearing in front of your path, baring its fangs and lashing out with its dastardly claws. The horse came to an unsteady halt, rearing back and knocking your frail form harshly to the ground. You inhaled sharply, rolling away, your limbs tucked inward, as fast as possible from the now trampling hooves and paws. You held your breath, covering yourself with your arms and you cried. Tears poured down your face as you waited for the steps of the animals to recede. You heard their noises of primal instinct and found yourself counting the minutes down until they were long gone and satisfied with their hunt.
When your arms went numb and the tip of your nose was sufficiently frozen, you turned over in the dirt, wet with dew, to stare at the empty sky. Your tears came until they could no longer, your breaths uneven with bitter air exhaling harshly from your lungs, and as your eyes stayed trained upwards, you allowed yourself one prayer to any god that would listen.
Please. Just let me see one star. One being from above that would understand.
Abruptly you were taken aback by an unusually chilling wind blowing through the branches of the tall oak trees, causing you to wrap your arms tightly against your grimy, shivering self. Slowly you allowed the exhaustion of the night to take over your features, your eyes closing allowing sleep to take over your dirt ridden form. Finally, you felt some semblance of peace come over you as you drifted off, a prayer still sitting heavy on your pale, chapped lips.
“You’re one weird human.” Your ears suddenly perked as a deep voice suddenly sounded from somewhere nearby. You screamed, scurrying to cover yourself with some kind of protection. Your eyes scanned the surrounding area frantically searching for the source of the voice.
“W-who’s there?” You said with as little confidence as you could muster. You cursed your voice for shaking silently as you continued your frantic search for this possible danger. Your eyes landed on a large branch nearby and your legs moved on their own accord, sliding you harshly against the hard, cold ground to scramble to grip the branch tightly, turning and holding it out in a manner you could only hoped looked more threatening than it felt.
“So silly..” The deep voice chuckled out from somewhere behind you. You yelped, waving the stick in the opposite direction, hoping not to lose your footing against any loose rocks or sturdy tree roots. Your dress was torn and soaked and the gentle breeze now moving in random intervals was jarring and dancing around your cloaked form, making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. A sudden snapping sound from a branch above your head caused you to scream, throwing the large branch with all of your feeble might towards the offending sound. A larger breeze blew by, obscuring your vision with your own hair and you scrambled to remove it from your vision. As your finally were able to get a glimpse of a male slinking towards you another breeze blew harshly by causing your to sigh sharply, your hands flying back up to your face to remove the hair blocking your vision yet again. “Your gonna hurt someone throwing those things.” The voice sounded again, humor twinkling off of his lips with smooth curls of laughter.
“Who are you? What do you want with me??” You said, your feet backpedaling as you finally removed your hair from your face again to take in the sight before you. Your eyes scanned the clearing of trees in the dim light unable to find the man you had been questioning and just as you began to question what was even real, you heard him again, your head whipping in the direction of the sound.
“I should be asking you that, considering you called for me..” He said, the humor never leaving his tone. You began to feel embarrassed at the thought of this man laughing at your pitiful state. Your cheeks grew red and your ears felt hot as you began wondering why you didn’t feel as in danger as you had earlier that night, deciding to deem it all on how wild the rest of your night had already been. Instead of answering you simply furrowed your brow, scanning and searching with your eyes still trying to find the source of the inquiry. Out of the blue in the still night, yet another breeze blew by roughly, chilling you to the bone. A branch suddenly creaked above you and you scrambled back to get a view of what could be perched there.
“Looking for me?” What you found, illuminated by the dim white moonlight, was a boy, seemingly about your age, swinging his legs softly to the gentle sway of the winds. His hair was strikingly white, pure as snow. His pale skin shone softly as if covered gingerly in new born stars. His eyes held mirth, much like his cheshire smile, and his whole body was lax with amusement as he stared down at you. In shock you stumbled backwards, falling over yourself and landing harshly on the ground, yet again tonight staring up at the sky. You felt the wind tousle your hair, but you didn’t seem to have the energy to care much as your mind grappled with its own questioning thoughts.
“Uhm..lady? Are..haha..are you okay?” His question, broken with impish laughter, felt comforting in a way as he leaned over your form, searching your face with curious eyes and a interrogative furrowed brow. You turned your head softly, staring into the now shocked eyes of the boy with the angular features and moon like eyes before suddenly your lips twitched, the corners of them quirking before a laugh began to bubble out of your chest. The laugh itself with incredulous and loud, joyous like a little kid finally discovering how something works. The boy looked back at you, tilting his head like a confused puppy as he watched you sit up slightly, leaning on your elbows. He didn’t make a move to back up or give you any space, instead leaning closer to examine you further.
“Did you hit your head or something, funny lady?” He said, his deep voice and boy-like expression of wonder and frustrating confusion only spurring your laughter on further as you grappled for breath. The events of tonight were catching up with your exhausted state and you found yourself wondering if this boy who shone so brightly on this gloomy night was even real.
Once you could finally catch your breath you sat upright and really took in the sight of him. He may have seemed young on the outside, but somehow he held a powerful aura, like he knew more then he let on. His smile was dazzling as he stared up at you with eyes that twinkled with a silent knowledge. You felt as though he was looking past your filthy outward appearance, and instead he was reading through your soul, listening silently to the story you couldn’t find the words to tell.
He stood suddenly, as if he found the answer to the question that had been dancing around like the winds, curling through each of your minds. His smile became softer and more genuine as he looked down at your still seated self and slowly outstretched his hand. It was a gesture you were unfamiliar with. It wasn’t a sudden, demanding grasp of your non-consenting hand. It wasn’t rough and calloused, with a predator-like grin gracing his features, but, instead, as you slid your hand over his palm in a silent proclamation of trust you found yourself reveling in how silky smooth his larger, more slender hand felt wrapping around yours in a protective gesture. He glanced at you, a playful smirk playing on his cherry red lips.
“Do you trust me?” He said, his deep voice breathy and patient, allowing you whatever amount of time you felt like you needed before you nodded slowly, hesitantly. He tilted his head in a munificent gesture, encouraging you to verbalize your thoughts. You felt the minuscule inkling of a curl to your lips forming, your eyes catching on how he seemed to be emitting light in this dim forest. The wind blew softly, ruffling your hair and caressing your now heated cheeks. He watched your features carefully as you bowed your head and giggled to yourself at the sensation of the winds dancing around the both of you. The chilly night felt warm as you turned your head slowly and methodically towards him again, your eyes glistening with an unreadable emotion and you breathed in deeply in a more relaxed manner.
“I do.” You said, beaming up at him now, your small, frail hand squeezing his a little tighter. He smiled fully now and to you it felt like sunshine. He watched your face, entranced in your beauty taking not of how grateful he was to have answered your call tonight, vowing to bring that smile back whenever he could. Your expression grew concerned as the look in his eye changed and he suddenly pulled you towards him, wrapping one arm around your shoulders before taking off in a sprint.
You tried to match his pace with a yelp, the wind now pushing you around forcefully. Your cries of protest were drowned out with his hysterical giggling. He forced you forward for a few more minutes as you began to question his strange motives before suddenly he came to a stop. His landing was much more graceful then your sudden stumbling forward, but as you gained your footing your objections died in your throat as you took in the sights around you. The forest behind you now, you stood in a clearing with grasses tickling your ankles, but the most impressive thing about this sight was the flowers. In full bloom, covering the surrounding area as far as your eyes could see were twinkling white flowers. Some stayed small and subdued, while others were larger, demanding more attention, but all of them shown with outstanding luminescence. Your breath caught in your throat as you stood completely rigid, taking in the sight.
You then felt a soft breeze, pulling your out of your shock with a shiver before you felt an unexpected heat radiating from behind you. You felt a soft hand trace your jaw from somewhere behind as you held your breath expectantly. His hand moved from your jaw to trace the outline of your neck, gathering your hair lying there and tying it tenderly away from your face. Your sudden inhale as his fingers tickled the nape of your neck caused him to chuckle, his close proximity allowing you to feel his warm breath fanning over your shoulders. You suddenly felt balmy as he leaned his face closer, his breaths coming out in an intoxicating manner, dancing around the area where your neck meets your shoulder.
“Look up.” He said, his voice coming out in a heady whisper. You gasped as you complied, your head whipping up too quickly, causing the male to snicker behind you. You couldn’t seem to care as you took in the sight before you. The once empty sky was now covered in brilliant gleaming stars, all feeling as though they were staring right at the two of you, encouragingly. You weren’t sure what they were encouraging, but just the silly thought itself had you laughing softly, your eyes slowly trailing over everything in front of you yet again. If it weren’t for the questioning hum the man had released you may not have even noticed the sturdy arms wrapped loosely around your waist or the cool skin of his cheek now resting on your exposed shoulder. You may not have even taken note of the breath now fanning comfortingly over your own blushing cheek of the look in his eyes as you turned slightly in his arms to get a better view of this new expression.
He took in your overwhelmed face as you tried to form words for the thoughts racing through your mind and he laughed, his head tilted back and chuckles racking his toned chest. You took in the movement behind his green tunic, complimenting his pale skin and you blushed again, turning your face away sharply. He gripped your shoulder with one hand softly, making sure not to startle you, while his other hand outstretched softly to point towards the cushiony grass beside of you. You took the hint and made a move to sit and take in the view before you.
He giggled as he helped move the layers of your dress away so you could sit comfortably before taking his seat beside you. You found yourself becoming encumbered with exhaustion and slowly with the gentle breeze swaying the twinkling lights, you let your head pull to the side to rest easily on his shoulder. He moved slowly as to not jostle you allowing more comfort for your tired form.
“You know, lady. I never caught your name..” He said, a hint of gentle humor lacing his deep baritone.
“I’m sorry..” You hummed out, “I’m y/n. Supposed princess of this kingdom.” You said, your tone sounding harsh even to your own ears. “I’m not sure I’d like to even ask who you are.” You said, laughing to help lighten the mood.
“Hmm.. I don’t think I was ever given a name where I am from.” Your brow furrowed at his response as you moved your head from its resting perch to look up at his questioningly. He laughed again, his body folding as he chuckled at your expression. “A story for another time, y/n.” You accepted his response begrudgingly, distracted by the way your name sounded on his lips.
“So what are you going to do when morning comes, little one?” He said, no malice in his tone. You sighed harshly flopping backwards to lay in the soft grass fully, surrounding yourself in the perfumed scent of the fluttering flowers. He took that as an answer in itself as he watched you, amused.
“You need to go back.” You groaned loudly as these words left his lips and he laughed as he shushed you, pushing you softly causing you to dramatically roll over laying your head on his thigh, a noise of protest leaving your bemused lips. “Let me finish would you!” He continued, annoyance playfully covering the syllables while he ran his fingers gently through your messy hair. You smiled, appeased for a moment while staring longingly towards the stars above. The sky was lightening and you felt your smile slipping at the realization that they would be gone again soon.
He frowned watching your face grow frantic with concern before softly resting his cools fingertips on the bottom of your chin, non-forcefully turning your face in his lap to look at his own passionate expression. He tilted his head to match the angle of your, his silliness making you giggle softly before continuing.
“You may have to go back, but you can always come back here, it’s all for you.” He let his eyes slowly trail over you, landing on your hand twisting anxiously tearing up small strands of the grass without realizing. He slid one of his hands comfortingly down your arm, trailing his fingertips lightly over the back of your hands. It felt as if getting a sunburn, getting too close to the beauty of something terrifying. “Look to the stars, I’ll always be there, watching and waiting.” He finished, his voice getting deeper with each second he stared at your animated expression staring up at him expectantly.
You felt your eyes welling up with tears at the peace being here brought to you, knowing it would be ending soon. You tried forming words, prayers, but your lips were too wobbly and my voice was too weak.
“When will I see you again? Wh-what should I even call you??” You finally managed to squeak out, the thick, hot tears you felt curling down your cheeks didn’t sting nearly as much as the thought of leaving him here, only to return to the torturous duties lined up for you at your home. He smiled sadly at you, blurring your senses with how ethereal he looked. His hands twitched against your wrist as he continued his comforting path, avoiding your eyes as he furrowed his brow in thought. Without thinking, out of desperation for an answer, you swiftly intertwined your own fingers with his, your palms slotting together as if fitting missing puzzle pieces together.
“You’ll see me when you need me.. but I’ll always be there.” You pursed your lips in a pout and he smiled again, taking his hand once tangled in your hair and running it slowly, methodically over your furrowed brow, smoothing the skin there and allowing your features to find solace again. “and why don’t you give me a name that you like, y/n.” He offered, his voice softer than you had heard it before, no amusement, only timid hope.
A name. Something so uniquely human. Something lovingly crafted for an individual. Something that holds meaning and myth. Something totally your own. You frowned in thought for a moment and he watched as your eyes glazed over patiently. Suddenly, you sat up rigidly, turning to face him, leaning closer then you had ever been previously. The sudden movement startled him, causing him to laugh awkwardly, his eyes blown wide while staring at your expectant and excited face.
“I’ve got it! I’m going to call you Felix!” You exclaimed. He furrowed his brow, tilting his head and repeating the syllables slowly, testing the way they tasted on his lips. Then he smiled at you teasingly, taking your breath away briefly. You rushed to find some way to explain yourself before the heat fighting it’s way up your neck found your cheeks. You stared into his eyes determined before explaining. “It means happiness. I found happiness tonight, here with you, when I couldn’t back there. They may not ever make me happy, but I have you. My happiness. My Felix.” You finished, grinning widely, appeased.
His grin couldn’t be contained as he laughed softly at how cute you could be. As he let his grin take over his features he let his eyes drift over your close proximity. His fingers began to unfold from between yours, drifting their way up your wrist, feeling your rushing heart beat. They slowly danced over your shoulder making you shiver slightly, as he noticed his teeth took purchase in his bottom lip, the movement catching your eye. His fingertips barely tickled the skin of your neck, causing goosebumps to break out over your skin. Once his hand pushed your hair back, tucking it behind your ear you could hear your own breathing, practically panting at his gentle actions. The longing in your eyes causing his eyes to become hooded with a guarded emotion.
Slowly, his hand found its place on your cheek, his cool palm was in great contrast to your too warm skin. You reveled in the feeling, yearning to remember the way this solace felt in this moment. He smiled softly, a flash of teeth all you could see before he was leaning in tenderly. He allowed you to make the moves on your own as well, only continuing forward when you would and only you were both nearly touching, so close you were breathing the same air, he allowed himself a glance at your pink lips. His tongue darted out to wet his own lips before he pulled back slightly a serious expression on his face.
“Can I?” His voice came out breathy, heavy with something you couldn’t name. You smiled softly, pleased with his ability to ask, always thinking of your feelings first. You couldn’t even resist long enough to answer before you were wrapping some of your fingers around his larger wrist, tangling the others in his too pretty hair, pulling his face towards yours and connecting your lips together passionately.
This kiss was unlike anything you had ever heard of, instead of sparks and passion it was butterflies and subtle hints of laughter you could feel bubbling in your chest. The kiss was lingering and slightly bittersweet. You could taste the saltiness on your lips from your tears mixing with the sweetness of his lips on yours. It was perfectly melancholy and grossly beautiful. Tragedy in the form of serendipity.
As you parted Felix’s hands soothed your cheeks and wiped your tears, a smile playing jokingly on his lips. He poked your nose and leaned forward to kiss your forehead lovingly. You smiled through the onslaught of tears and gasped at the dawning sky above you now. Your eyes frantically searched for stars you knew you wouldn’t be able to see anymore, until they fell on Felix’s sad expression. He tried to smile softly for your sake as he stroked your cheek gently.
He then removed himself from you, before standing and helping you up as well. Once you were both standing, staring at each other with eyes full of unspoken words he breathed in deeply before leaning in to plant another swift, stolen kiss on your lips. You smiled as he pulled away, staring at the way his handsome features curled in amusement at your shocked form. He then, without your noticing, had moved his hand to the back of your head and with a soft mutter of words he knew you wouldn’t understand, you were suddenly unconscious in his arms. He lifted you, bridal style, and began walking back towards the forest where you had first met.
——
Once you all were back to the castle, a gentle breeze swaying the curtains, he laid you tenderly on your bed, smoothing your hair out around you and covering you with your own cushion-like blankets.
“Forgive me, princess. I usually would have asked.” He laughed quietly as you stirred in your sleep, as stubborn as you would have been awake. “I won’t be here when you awaken, but I’ll be back for you. You never have to be alone.” He slowly leaned forward, delicately placing a feathery light kiss on your lips. He made his way back to the window, tiptoeing as to not wake you, before turning to get one final glance at you.
“I’ll stay for you, y/n. Always.” He said, the ghost of a smile gracing his lips as a singular tear, the color of moonlight fell from his eye before all that was left in the room was a lonely princess and a gentle, light air dancing through the window like laughter and stolen kisses on a night only two will remember.

See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil [2]
Fandom: Shall We Date?: Obey Me! Pairing: Diavolo/F!Reader Genre: Soulmate AU, Fake Relationship (?), Misunderstandings, Fluff, Angst, Suggestive Themes
Synopsis: During a confrontation between Diavolo and a certain witch who harbors unrequited feelings for him, he declares his intention to ask you to stand beside him in reigning over the Devildom someday. You conclude only one logical explanation for the insanity he uttered: this is his way of discouraging the witch from being so persistent. Although clueless, you play along and become ‘lovers’ with him.
Inevitably, your existing attraction for Diavolo grows, but the distinction between truth and lies, the crisscrossed lines of the right and the wrong, and the question of what’s real and what isn’t, begin to plague your mind and stir up trouble for your relationship with him with each passing day.
Entangled within the woven threads of soulmates and a royal prophecy, this is the story of the Demon Prince and his future Queen: you.
1 | 2 | 3 Chapter 2: Hear No Evil Word Count: 6.5k
To say your week was eventful would be an understatement.
It was no secret that wherever Diavolo went, eyes followed. Even if demons walked on eggshells with him, word about him spread from one mouth to another rapidly, both news and rumors alike. Now, your circumstances mimicked his own. When the two of you would be spotted together, all hell ensued. Once, Diavolo walked you to your classroom, and by the end of the day, everyone—including Belphegor, who had skipped classes—had knowledge of what happened. As the days passed, you slowly fell into the normalcy of such occurrences. The reason for it was when you were in Diavolo’s company, the last thing you cared about was the eyes trained on you, as strange as it sounded. On a positive note, it contributed to the fabrication of your relationship and made it more believable. No one had questioned either of you about it yet.
The most awaited day of the week arrived, Saturday.
You awoke in a good mood, undeniably filled with anticipation of the events today would bring. As you watered the Mirage Flower on your windowsill, the item resting beside it caught your eye: a note. You finished your task and took the crisp white envelope in your hands, flipping it over to see the crimson wax seal on its flap. While you were expecting the RAD logo to be stamped on it, the sigil was one you were positive you’d never seen before but felt strangely acquainted with.
With utmost care, you unsealed the envelope, and in the card, the sender had written:
Bewitched, I was, on the fateful day you and I met.
The familiar penmanship was all you needed to confirm it was, indeed, from none other than Diavolo.
You’d be lying if you claimed your heart didn’t flutter when you finished reading that single sentence, but that was a normal response, wasn’t it? Such a romantic sentiment was written in a note for you, and it was from an admirable man—of course, you’d be moved by it. As you breathed in and out to curb the initial surprise you felt due to the content of the envelope, you tapped behind the paper with your index finger, thinking.
Diavolo loved games, and he was entertained the most by being their mastermind.
This is a riddle, you thought. What a strange way to ask someone out.
You chuckled, both amused by his antics and by the way the gears in your head turned to figure out the meaning behind his words. Months ago, the demon brothers had insisted on coming with you to the Demon Lord’s Castle when you were invited there for tea. Perhaps, it was because, back then, Diavolo had requested for your company in the same manner that you found the answer in no time.
Quietness ruled over the RAD campus on weekends, a stark contrast to the busy picture it painted on weekdays. The area remained open, though, permitting industrious students to hole up inside the library and club members to work on their extracurricular activities.
Leisurely, you strolled along the garden and entered the building without bumping into anyone you knew. Once inside, you recognized a few demons and nodded to them as a greeting while navigating your way to the answer to the riddle: The Student Council Room.
The door let out a small creak as you pushed it open. Since Diavolo was nowhere to be found, you stepped inside and opted to look around for any signs of another envelope. Despite having a lot of papers and writing implements, Lucifer’s area was the tidiest. The square-shaped tube of the tinted lip balm Asmodeus had been frantically searching for yesterday was on his table. Meanwhile, a stack of overdue assignments Belphegor ‘forgot’ to bring home was on his desk.
You roamed around the room until you reached the space you had landed on when you were transported into this world. Standing still, you raised your head, your gaze meeting the podium Diavolo had occupied, the place where he greeted you. It was the very first time your eyes landed on him. In absolute clarity, you could picture the scene of your meeting and how he looked like back then. He was tall and proud, his eyebrows scrunched together in worry at your discomfort at being summoned so suddenly. Most of all, he was regal, as if the place he had been standing on was not a student council podium but a throne.
“This takes me back,” you commented, feeling nostalgic after realizing how far you’d come. You’d learned many things from your stay and met friends more precious to you than anyone else. In the past, if someone told you what kind of relationship you’d be sharing with the Demon Prince months later, you would’ve laughed and brushed them off. “Now, where could that envelope be?”
You stepped aside and moved forward. The stairs led you to where Diavolo had been on that ‘fateful’ day. Footsteps tentative but thrilled, you approached his seat, halting and pulling the chair out. You stood in the place where Diavolo belonged; high up, the sight offering a clear view of what was happening below. Your gaze zeroed in on the center of the room, the spot you stood at a while ago, where he first landed his eyes on you. It hit you that you were looking at that place from his perspective. What did he think of you back then?
“‘ Bewitched, I was, on the fateful day you and I met, ’” you uttered and caught yourself having thoughts you shouldn’t have. Sighing, you shook your head, picked up the envelope on Diavolo’s desk, and muttered, “Why is he so good at this?”
You unsealed the envelope and read the next riddle:
The greed and lust I harbor for you know no bounds.
How in the Devildom were you supposed to interpret that message? If you were surprised by the previous riddle, then you were flabbergasted now. You had to remind yourself multiple times: it was a riddle; nothing more, nothing less. Based on the emphasis he had given the sins in the message, the clue laid in the two members of the Seven Rulers of Hell: Mammon and Asmodeus. Intrigued by the events he had in store for you, you contemplated the riddle’s meaning further and descended on the stairs with the intent of going home. Before you could forget, you grabbed the missing lip balm Asmodeus left on his desk and decided to return it to him and ask him for any clues Diavolo might have given him.
Once you arrived back at the House of Lamentation, you went straight in the direction of Asmodeus’s room, but surprisingly, you met him along the hallway.
“Asmo! I found the tinted lip balm you’re looking for in the Student Council Room,” you stated, handing him the item.
He accepted it gratefully, his eyes wide. “Oh, my… I must have left it there a few days ago. Thanks for bringing it!”
“Sure thing,” you replied. “Where are you off to, by the way?”
“Glad you asked! The Into The Devildom collection I designed is going to be launched soon, so I’m meeting some partners for it.”
“Wow, congratulations! I’m looking forward to seeing your designs!”
“Oh, thank you, darling! As crazy as this sounds, the executives suggested Mammon as one of our models, so he’s going to attend the meeting, too.”
“Wait! What did you just say? Mammon?”
“I know, right?” His facial expression morphed into one full of disbelief and exasperation. “Well, I mean, even if he’s scummy off-cam, he does justice to clothing on-cam, so I have high hopes for this campaign... but don’t tell him I said that!”
“Yes, yes, of course…”
The request Asmodeus made barely registered in your mind as you figured out the place connected to both the Avatar of Greed and the Avatar of Lust: Majolish.
The Majolish VIP Room lived up to its name; it was nothing short of glamorous.
After going to an AkuDonald’s drive-through, Mammon, Asmodeus, and you—or as you liked to refer to yourselves: TEAM PARTYYYYY—headed straight to Majolish while chatting about random topics and gossip. Once inside the rose-colored establishment, Mammon and Asmodeus parted ways with you to attend their meeting. You were about to search for clues from the racks and shelves when a staff member approached and escorted you to a sitting room to serve you tea and snacks.
Minutes after partaking of the refreshments, the head stylist welcomed you to the adjoining VIP Room, where, at the moment, you were sitting inside and waiting. You stared at your reflection in the grand vanity mirror. All its lights were turned on, and it was an image you’d only seen in Hollywood movies back in your world. After you were all glammed up with flawless makeup, a staff member under Asmodeus brought an ensemble from his unreleased Into The Devildom collection. You tried to refuse, but after a phone call from the designer himself, insisting he wanted the best clothing for you on your ‘momentous’ date, you relented and expressed your gratitude for his thoughtful gesture.
“My lady,” the head stylist called. Although everyone in this place had been referring to you using this title since earlier, you were still unused to it. The head stylist offered you the item in their hands. “Lord Diavolo asked us to give you this envelope after you’d chosen your outfit.”
You smiled and received it. “I see. Thank you so much.”
“I wish you both a wonderful time,” the head stylist replied and left to give you privacy.
You opened the envelope, wondering what the riddle would say. Since he led you here to prepare you for your date, this would be the last note, wouldn’t it?
Meet me at the place where we first shared dinner, my princess.
I will be waiting.
— Diavolo
‘My princess.’
He called you his princess.
Your heart did a complete somersault at that.
Unexpectedly, the riddle—if you could even call it one—was more straightforward than the previous two you’d received. You placed the card back inside the envelope, putting it together with the other two inside your clutch. Clearing your throat and fixing your posture, you stood and adjusted your clothing. You were nervous again, but you were ready.
A sleek black car waited for you outside, ready to take you to your destination: Ristorante Six.
“You look even more beautiful tonight,” Diavolo remarked.
He smiled at you from across the table, his appearance dashing though he was only in a plain dress shirt and slacks. He took the champagne flute in his long fingers, your eyes refusing to miss the way his arm flexed at the movement and how his throat bobbed as he took a sip of the beverage.
“I have you to thank for that,” you gulped and managed to reply. “The staff at Majolish were all so nice and accommodating.”
“That’s good to hear.” He placed his glass on the side and leaned back to his seat, his eyes trained on you. “Did you enjoy the riddles?”
You let out a laugh. “I can’t say I didn’t.”
“I’m glad,” he said, the smile on his lips shifting into a frown. “To tell you the truth, I initially planned for us to enjoy a day together in the human world… but when I asked Lucifer for advice, he told me it wouldn’t be pleasant if we were to run into a certain witch…”
Ah, you thought, wondering what that would’ve entailed. However, wouldn’t it be better for Maddi to see you and Diavolo together for her to be deterred? When you contemplated the matter further, you supposed that would be dangerous—for you, at least. Honestly, you would’ve been fine with a simple dinner, but knowing Diavolo, the fact that Ristorante Six was empty save for the two of you was his way of apologizing and making up for the breakfast Maddi ruined. “You don’t need to worry about that. I really enjoyed today. It’s my first time going on a date in the Devildom.”
“That makes me happy,” he stated, visibly relieved and pleased. “We can still go, next time.”
Next time. The implication he wanted to go out with you again made your chest thrum with anticipation. “Yes, you’re right. Next time.”
He reached across the table and took your hand in his, his thumb brushing your knuckles. “Thank you for agreeing to go out with me.”
The scent of roses swirled around the room. The romantic atmosphere enveloping the two of you was intoxicating—as if it was an invitation for you to give in to the thoughts and emotions looming over your mind and heart. Was it those riddles that got to you? Or was it Diavolo himself, whom you’d always admired from afar?
You smiled at him and let your fingers hold on to his own tighter, just for a moment.
As you expected, Diavolo insisted on taking you home. You didn’t mind—no scratch that—it delighted you he’d offer, as your dinner with him felt strangely short. You’d spent a considerable amount of time during the day figuring out the riddles, a period longer than your two hours of dinner. While the five-course meal left you satisfied, your conversation with him was so enjoyable that it felt brief. It wouldn’t take that long to travel from Ristorante Six to the House of Lamentation, so you figured a few more minutes wouldn’t hurt.
Soon, you arrived at your home. Diavolo entered the gates of the House of Lamentation with you in comfortable silence. Once the two of you stepped on the porch, you offered, “Do you want to go in and say hi to everyone?”
“Hm?” Diavolo was lost in thought as he gave you an indecisive stare.
“Diavolo?”
As you stared back at him, it dawned on you. You’d witnessed this scene a thousand times in human world movies before, and with his interest in the pop culture of your realm, he had, too. You used to think it was nothing but a ridiculous cliché, but now, you weren’t so sure about that anymore.
“Can I kiss you good night?” Diavolo asked in a low, husky voice.
You had no way of concealing the surprise etched on your face. Even if you expected the question, the thought of kissing him was surreal. You never dared to dream of it, yet here he was, truly asking you if such a thing would be fine with you. The demon brothers would be watching somewhere from one of the tall windows, you had no doubt about it, burning with curiosity about the date between the human they shared a pact with and the Prince they swore their loyalty to. You had agreed to be a part of Diavolo’s charade, and your first date went well. This was natural.
You nodded. “Okay.”
Closing your eyes, you leaned into his warmth as his palm made its way to your cheek and curved at your jaw. The gentle pressure of his lips on your own lasted for a mere second, and the loss of contact prompted your eyes to open, the desire for more reflected in your eyes… and his.
In front of you, Diavolo revealed the rare sight of his vulnerability. You’d never known it before, but there was a limit to his seemingly perpetual composure. As you gazed at the undeniable flush on his cheeks and the hesitation painted all over his countenance, the longing to see more of this version of him led adrenaline to spike in your veins.
You wrapped your arms around his neck and whispered, “Do you need me to do more?”
Diavolo’s eyes widened at your astute inquiry, but he made no move to deny it. “Will you?”
The question sounded like a challenge, but underneath that layer, it was a plea. He wanted this, and you did, too—even if it was only for show.
“I can,” you confirmed, “if you’d like me to.”
At your agreement, his hesitation dissipated. He leaned in and brushed your lower lip with his thumb. “If you continue to tempt me like that, you need to prepare yourself for the consequences.”
“I’ve been prepared for them. Ever since I said ‘yes’ to you.”
You closed your eyes as Diavolo bent his head and pressed a gentle kiss on your lips. It was a real one, this time, and you returned it enthusiastically, throwing caution to the wind. His palm moved past your cheek, down to your shoulder, pausing on the small of your back until it settled around your waist, fitting your bodies together. His warm tongue slid past the seam of your lips to meet yours, deepening the kiss and awakening a wave of desire inside of you.
Before it could get out of hand, you broke the contact of your lips on his. You caught your breath while Diavolo leaned his forehead against yours. Your lips stayed a hair’s breadth away from each other’s, sharing warm puffs of breath and brushing as you whispered, “Good night, Diavolo.”
“Good night, my princess.”
The first kiss you shared with Diavolo had been the beginning of many.
A certain thrill hung in the atmosphere whenever the two of you were in the vicinity of each other. More often than not, your encounters would lead to the two of you leaving hand in hand to move to a more private setting as everyone watched. Although there was no reason for you to continue your charade behind closed doors, the moment your eyes met his, kisses followed. When your relationship with him took a physical turn through your heated kisses, your attraction to him inevitably grew stronger.
Being the heir to the Devildon’s throne, Diavolo was a busy demon. Despite this, he would still take you on dates. You’d gone to Ristorante Six a few more times. There was an instance when he wanted to go to AkuDonald’s, and you were more than happy to introduce him to your favorites. Your date at Hell’s Kitchen went well, too. How he managed to find the time for these things, you had no idea. The following dates you went with him were accompanied with gifts, and soon, across your bedroom’s shelves and beside your pillows, various plush toys from Cranesanity rested—all acquired personally by Diavolo. It was both amusing and endearing, his interest in that game.
On a Sunday afternoon, weeks after you began your dangerous affair with him, Diavolo invited you to come over for tea in the Demon Lord’s Castle. Much like how it began after your second date, he had asked you in a way you’d consider normal, this time, through a text message. Either way, if he was the one who invited you, you’d be delighted to accept.
With the inky view of the Devildom outside the sitting room window, you sat across Diavolo, a round ornate table full of pastries between the two of you. The freshly brewed Ceylon tea by none other than Barbatos, a culinary legend, was warm and fragrant in your teacups. One of the best things in the Demon Lord’s Castle was the food. Barbatos’s cooking was the best, truly fit for royalty, and worth every praise you’d heard about it. As Beelzebub would mention now and then, from being served such food alone, Diavolo was lucky to have Barbatos as his butler.
While eating, Diavolo brought up how the RAD Newspaper Club contacted him and asked for his approval for your photo in the academy’s courtyard to be published. Before giving them a response, he wanted to know if you had any objections or conditions for Mephistopheles to take into account.
“I have no problem with it, honestly. It would be better if the denizens knew, wouldn’t it?” you responded after giving it some thought, meaning every word you said.
Diavolo nodded, considering your answer.
“What about you? What do you think?” you asked.
“I’d like nothing more than to let everyone know about us. Not that they don’t know already, but officially, I mean.” Diavolo chuckled and handed you a printed copy of the photograph for your approval. “We look like quite the pair, don’t we?”
As you examined the picture, a smile made its way to your lips, a tiny, if not bittersweet, one. You, Diavolo, and the Mirage Flower were at the center of the frame. On the surface, the two of you looked like a couple in love; convincing, real. You knew better, though, and that reality left a pang in your chest. “We sure do.”
A celebratory ball was going to be held at the Demon Lord’s Castle in honor of Diavolo’s prophesied ‘Queen.’ In other words, the ball was going to be held to honor you. The situation was similar to what happened some time ago when the demon brothers, through their gratitude, made you the guest of honor during Diavolo’s birthday. It lessened the nervousness you felt and replaced it with anticipation.
Still, it would be nice to thank Diavolo for everything he had done for you. You looked back on the facts you’d learned about him in the past few months and listed the arts, cute animals and items, and sweets as the things he was partial to. His tastes were eclectic. When you first met him, you wouldn’t have guessed he considered flowers and small animals to be comforting.
In the end, you decided to go for the ‘sweets’ option. Macarons and cupcakes would be nice, wouldn’t they? Both of them would be cute and sweet. You decided to experiment with a few trial batches before making a final one to give Diavolo as a gift on the day of the ball.
Luke, who you were convinced was truly your guardian angel, was more than happy to assist you when you asked him for help.
Once your classes were dismissed, you returned to the House of Lamentation with Luke. After he demonstrated how to make macarons and cupcakes, you sat side by side and chatted as you waited for the pastries to bake.
“So,” Luke began out of the blue, “you’re really dating Lord Diavolo, huh? I couldn’t believe it when I first heard about it.”
While you had experienced telling white lies to children back in your world, at the moment, you found it difficult to believe how you were lying to an angel. “Haha, yeah. It’s been a while.”
“I’m still not over the fact that a good human like you ended up being destined for a demon all along! Even if that demon is Lord Diavolo…” Luke frowned. He had always been like this, worrying about you, a human who was constantly surrounded by demons. To him, now that you were going to be Diavolo’s Queen, your entanglement with demons had become inexorable.
You couldn’t help but reach out to him and ruffle his hair. He was truly an angel, a good kid.
“H-Hey,” he complained but did nothing to move your hand away, “stop that!”
“Thanks for worrying about me, Luke.” You smiled at him reassuringly and patted his shoulder. “Everything will be fine. As you said, Diavolo and I… well, we are destined, after all.”
The sound of the timer prompted your heads to turn to its source. Luke’s face lit up as he excitedly grabbed his mittens and skipped to the corner of the room. The heavenly scent of pastries wafted all over the kitchen as he drew the oven’s door open.
You, however, stayed in place and merely watched, once again having difficulty believing how you lied to an angel.
Diavolo’s trusted footmen fetched you from the House of Lamentation to the Demon Lord’s Castle.
Over the last few months, you’d developed a sense of familiarity not only with Diavolo’s staff but also with the ins and outs of his grand home. You’d stayed over numerous times that the guest room you frequented in was now assigned as exclusively yours, with your personal effects in it, serving as your room. Aside from your possessions, brand new designer clothing purchased by Diavolo—which were, unexpectedly, all in your size—as well as makeup, accessories, toiletries, and everything you could need, occupied the walk-in closet.
“Is this really necessary?” you had asked him when you found out about his shopping spree, worry trumping the other mixed emotions you felt at the sight of more gifts.
“I want to give all the best things to you.”
“If you say things like that, I…”
“Don’t you think my future Queen deserves the best of the best?”
“...Right, of course.”
Diavolo’s Queen. That person was not you. You sighed and reminded yourself he was the Demon Prince. He had an eternity’s worth of money to spare, purchasing these items was nothing to him. He prepared this for the Queen in the prophecy, a partner deserving of such luxury. When you eventually had to use some of the items for attending events with Diavolo, you told yourself you were just borrowing them. You handled everything with care and returned them to their original place after use—as if your hands never touched them at all.
You arrived at the Demon Lord’s Castle and found yourself sitting on the plush sofa inside Diavolo’s study. After recently having a vision of Diavolo playing hooky, Barbatos requested for you to keep an eye on him, insisting his master would listen to you. Barbatos asked you to make sure Diavolo would finish his tasks before the two of them had to leave for a meeting with important figures of the nobility in the Devildom. You obliged, having nothing else to do on a Friday night, preferring Diavolo’s quiet company over the club music and neon lights in town, which would no doubt be full of demons unwinding tonight. While you scrolled through Devilgram, liked your friends’ photos, and laughed at funny videos, Diavolo went through his stack of papers diligently. As the pile grew smaller, he hummed to the tune of a song from Mononoke Land, which piqued your attention.
“You seem to be in a good mood,” you commented.
“I am.” He nodded happily. “You’re here, after all.”
You smiled at him. “I’m glad.”
Diavolo signed his name at the bottom of the page he was working on and placed his seal on it. After the wax dried, he closed the folder and placed it to the side, leaning back against his seat with an exhausted sigh.
You glanced at him and asked, “You’re finished?”
“It seems so,” he replied, checking the grandfather’s clock in the corner of the room, “and with a few minutes to spare, too.”
“Barbatos will be pleased. Congratulations!”
He chuckled and shifted his gaze back to you, a mischievous smirk on his lips. “Don’t you think I deserve a reward?”
“Maybe,” you played along coyly. “What kind of reward do you want?”
“Something only you can give me.”
“Such a thing exists?”
“Yes.” He gestured to you with his fingers, beckoning you over. “Come here.”
You locked your D.D.D. and left it on the sofa, standing up and stepping in front of his desk. “What can I do for you, Diavolo?”
“You can come closer.”
You circled the desk until you were beside him. “Here?”
“Not quite.” He took your wrist and encircled your waist with his arm, pulling you into his lap. “Right here.”
You shifted and found a more comfortable position with your legs hanging from the side of his knees. “That’s it?”
“No.” Diavolo brushed your hair aside and caressed your cheek. “Kiss me.”
Gladly, you thought but ultimately chose actions over words as a response.
Your lips had long been acquainted with his, but every single time remained as a sensual experience that left you wanting for more. Sometimes he’d be slow and gentle, taking his time to savor your taste, while other times had been quick pecks on your lips when either of you would be busy and in a rush to say goodbye.
But now, the kiss the two of you were sharing could only be described as passionate. Your palms rested on his shoulders, and slowly, you wrapped your arms around him, closing in your bodies toward each other. His lips moved against yours so greedily—lustfully—that you felt sinful as you reciprocated, drowning in his warmth.
When you pulled away to catch your breath, his arm tightened around your waist, and his mouth swept over your cheek, leaving a trail of kisses in its wake until his lips found your neck. He kissed you softly, his tongue darting out to dampen your skin before nipping and sucking at it.
“Diavolo,” you closed your eyes and whispered, not wanting to make noise but unable to hold it in.
“Let out your voice,” he said, moving his lips downward after leaving a lovebite on your skin. “I want to hear you.”
His long fingers unfastened the button of your blouse, giving him more access to your body. As he moved to the next button, however, a loud knock on the door caused the two of you to freeze.
“My Lord,” Barbatos called. “It is time for us to leave.”
Without waiting for an answer, the sound of footsteps echoed on the empty hallway and faded as Barbatos gave the two of you privacy.
He knows, doesn’t he? That Barbatos, you thought, internally panicking. You moved away from Diavolo and fixed your hair and clothes. Even though your mind was all muddled now, you managed to casually tell him, “I guess it’s time for you to go.”
Deep inside, you were anything but calm. Your head replayed the events that occurred minutes ago. That was a close call. Too close. What in the Devildom were you thinking? Seriously…
It always irked you how times when, after sharing a kiss, Diavolo appeared to be unbothered existed. You preferred the vulnerable expression he had shown you during the first time you agreed to kiss him. Still, you were curious, and you turned your head to peek at the face he made tonight, but nothing could have prepared you when your eyes met his.
His gaze on you was full of desire, an emotion you’d only seen on him in flickers before; a speculation you doubted but was now a blatant truth. He stepped closer to you and pulled you in a tight embrace, letting you feel the extent of his arousal as he stroked your hair and inhaled your fragrance.
“We’ll finish this next time,” he whispered.
And then, he sealed his promise with a kiss.
After seeing Diavolo and Barbatos off, you opted to go home instead of staying longer in the Demon Lord’s Castle. You needed time to think, and being in a place full of memories with Diavolo didn’t help in clearing your mind.
You’d long accepted your attraction to him. If you were to imagine what it would be like to be in a relationship with a soulmate, every detail would be the same as the romantic affair you shared with Diavolo, except it would be real. Tonight, you had to face the music and admit it to yourself: you wished it was.
The situation was getting out of your hands, and at a loss of what to do, you grabbed your D.D.D. from your pocket and dialed a reliable friend’s number, knowing this decision would change your life.
As insisted by the angels, Solomon went to town to order takeout for dinner instead of experimenting in the kitchen. That was when he received your call. The two of you agreed to meet up at Hell’s Kitchen, as you spontaneously decided to purchase food for the demon brothers as well. It had been a while since all eight of you had gone for a meal there. Solomon wasn’t in a rush and had time to spare, so he was more than happy to sit down with you for a chat as you waited for your orders to be processed.
“Shall we have a round of Demonus tonight?” he asked, leading you to a nice, secluded table in the corner of the room.
“Sounds good,” you replied with a nod and took the seat in front of him.
After some idle chat, a waiter brought two horns of Demonus for you and Solomon.
With his elbows on top of the table, Solomon rested his chin over his folded hands. He broached the subject with a smile, “So, what did you want to talk about? Spells? Pacts? Demons? Recipes?”
You took your time in replying, not having uttered this word in this world before. “I’d like to talk about… soulmates.”
“Soulmates? Well, that’s something I didn’t expect.”
“Yes, I… I wanted to know if there are demons who have soulmarks.”
“How come? By any chance, do you have a soulmark?”
It was difficult enough for you to acknowledge you had one, but if you wanted to acquire information from Solomon, your best bet at the moment, you had to come clean about your situation. “Yes, I do.”
“Does Lord Diavolo know?”
“No, this is a secret I’ve never revealed to anyone before.”
Solomon contemplated the situation you had given him. “That is certainly complicated.”
You sighed and took a sip of your Demonus. “I know.”
“I hate to be the one to break it to you. I’ve been around for a long time, but I’ve never met a demon with a soulmark.”
“I see. That’s…” Sad? Unfortunate? Heartbreaking? What were you supposed to say when the disappointment clouding your mind felt so heavy?
“I’m sorry,” Solomon said sincerely.
“It’s… It’s nothing. I’m alright.”
He took a sip of his drink and allowed you to process the information he had given you. As you did, you couldn’t help but dwell on another matter that continued to plague your mind. After a few minutes, you decided this would be the best moment to ask.
“Solomon…”
“Yes, what is it?”
“Have you heard about Diavolo’s prophecy?”
A sly smile made its way to his lips. “Let’s just say having pacts with seventy-two demons has its perks.”
That caught your attention. He knew something about it. “Will you tell me?”
“Why not ask him yourself?” Solomon suggested. “It’s something that concerns you as well, doesn’t it?”
There had always been a sense of camaraderie between the two of you as the only humans in the exchange program. Revealing the fact you had a soulmark was one thing, but telling him about the secret you shared with Diavolo was another. Still, if you were to receive the answer your gut feeling told you that you would receive, there would be no need to worry about that any longer.
“I’m going to tell you another secret.”
Solomon nodded encouragingly. “And it will remain as one.”
His quip made you laugh, but the amusement faded in the blink of an eye, the words you were about to utter weighing you down.
“The truth is, I’m just a stand-in for whoever is the one in the prophecy,” you confessed. “I’m sure you’ve heard of her, but Maddi… well, long story short, Diavolo had to drive her away, but she steered the conversation to the prophecy, and I happened to be there, so…”
Solomon peered at your face, his expression grave. “You’re sure about this?”
“Yes, I was there. That’s what happened.”
“And the demon brothers don’t know, so you can’t ask them yourself.”
“That’s right.”
He leaned back and crossed his arms. “Okay, I’ll tell you.”
Relief washed over you at his agreement. If Solomon ended up refusing, you didn’t know who else you could approach.
Solomon cleared his throat and divulged, “It was long ago, so the version of the story varied, but from what I’d gathered from the different sources I had, one thing was constant: a witch had a vision of the future when the Demon Prince was born. It was said that Diavolo’s Queen would be the bridge to his goals, and only when the Queen would rule by his side would he be able to see them into fulfillment.”
This was the revelation you needed, the answer you sought after. If the prophecy was made when Diavolo was born, it meant that he had been waiting for his Queen for millennia.
It must be lonely, you thought, but loneliness was something you never saw on him.
While you never cared about finding nor ending up with your soulmate, it was a different matter with Diavolo. The Devildom would always be his number one priority. To figure out the dream the prophecy was referring to was easy: for the three worlds to live peacefully in coexistence. He’d expressed that many times before. The establishment of the exchange program was a stepping stone to actualize his vision, but he was still waiting for his Queen, a position vyed by many but was in your wrongful hands.
It would be fine to continue pretending to be his Queen if you weren’t in love with him… but you were. How could you continue kissing him and wishing every caress of his lips was sincere? It was as if you were a traveler with a parched throat who spotted an oasis from afar, only to discover it was a mirage once you reached it. Even now, a flicker of envy sparked within you for the nameless, faceless Queen of the Devildom he was bound to have by his side. At once, you discarded the thought and decided it wasn’t a good feeling to have, to covet him, who is destined for someone else. It would be wrong of you to continue pretending to be someone you weren’t, especially since someone who might be out there already existing, deserved this place.
Solomon’s worried voice roused you from your reverie. “You seem shaken. Are you going to be okay?”
“I’m fine,” you responded with a shaky voice. “It’s just… a lot to take in.”
“What do you plan to do now?”
“I’m going to break things off with him.”
“You say that, but will he let you?”
“Why wouldn’t he?” You let out a sardonic chuckle. “It’s not like there was anything going on between us, to begin with.”
“Hmm…”
“Solomon? What is it?”
“Oh, nothing.” He shook his head and smiled. “I’m curious to see how this unfolds. I wish you the best of luck.”
“Thank you.”
Yes, breaking things off with him would be the right thing to do. After all, you couldn’t help but imagine yourself in Maddi’s shoes as Diavolo blatantly rejected your affection. The thought alone was painful enough. Before that could happen, you’d part ways with him in amicable terms and through your own will. The exchange program was going to end soon, anyway. Truly, there was no point in holding on to him any longer. This would be for the best.
You would set things straight and end your arrangement with him the next time you planned to meet each other: at the upcoming celebratory ball at the Demon Lord’s Castle.
Notes: I went through a writing slump for a while, so I decided to work on a few shorter pieces before writing this chapter. Finally, it’s here! To those who had been waiting for this, I hope you enjoyed reading. Thank you for your patience! ♡

who: jason lannister / @goldcoat where: the hall of heroes, casterly rock, during the three month time skip.
and so; it was seemingly over - the endless months of negotiations, of family strife and drama that was quite frankly none of his personal concern, only for it to result in a bastard king being placed upon the throne in the neighbouring region. for in the end, regardless of whoever sat upon the throne of the riverlands, he would ensure some profit was reaped from the gold being redeployed within the ashes of the rivers; though it was a matter of awaiting when to recall that favour. for whilst a lanniser would always repay their debts, they would always be one to collect ones due; and how it seemed many were piling up for the kings of casterly rock. there was another pressing matter that was called upon the attentions of the lions; a matter that was far more pressing than idiotic rumours of trees, circles and whatever nonsense the common folk seemed to enagge in to distract themselves.
for there was a debt that remained to be paid; for whilst a lioness seemed to work closely alongside those born of sea and smoke across the horizon of the sunset sea, the pride was circling, stalking and hiding themselves within the scandals of politics, for the right time to strike. for strikes there had been; the first being the incessant historic raiding the ironborn had forced the isle of faircastle to withstand, the second being the sack of the economic heart of the kingdom in a time of war where the men had left their women behind to fight the green flag.... and the third, a poisoning attempt on foreign land; in an attempt to cover up an inside plot brewing amongst those made of iron. three strikes; and it was unfortunately, game over. hearing the approaching footsteps of the other lion of casterly rock; reckless, dangerously quick with a blade due to his ample time in braavos, destructive to those who came in his path...including himself.
“the kraken’s debt is due to be repaid.” the king spoke, setting his orbs upon the crypts of those lannisters who had perished heroically in battle; a blaze of valour and glory for the family name. this was about more than kingdoms, this was about pride; his pride, as a king, and his name. “to be settled in green flames to the house with a sigil of vairy green and black; flames, not gold.”

フェンダー編第百六十二回:「”MBS Custom Lapis Lazuli Stratocaster N.O.S. -Deep Sapphire Blue Transparent- by Ron Thorn”ってこんなこと」
プリンシパル・マスタービルダー「ロン・ソーン」の製作品。 2018年10月のファクトリー・ツアーにてオーダーした、当店特注オーダー・モデルのカスタム・ラピスラズリ・ストラトキャスターが入荷しました。
Spec. Body : 5A Quilt Maple Top on Ron's Private Stock Korina 1PC Body Finish : Gloss Thin Urethane Neck : 5A Birdseye Maple 1PC , Modern C-Shape Neck Finish : Gloss Thin Urethane Fingerboard : 9.5" Radius , 6105 Narrow Tall Frets , 22F Pickups : Josefina Hand-Wound Fat 50s STRAT PU Controls : Vol , Neck Tone , Middle&Bridge Tone , 5way-SW Weight : 3.89kg Case : Custom Shop Logo Black Hard Case

Unlike him
Genre: smut, demon au
Words: 3076
Paring: demon Namjoon x human reader
Warning!: strong language, restraints, unprotected sex, oral(m receiving), orgasm denial, dirty talk, pet name, light manipulating, blood
a/n: Got a little carried away:)
Neon lights flashed around him, bodys reeking of lust and sin. He weren't here for them but a man who thought he could cheat death. Namjoon pushed past the people who were dancing, disgusted by their reaching hands. If he could only snap his fingers and kill them all...Instead did he have to be fariley unnoticed while he did Lucifer's dirty work. Searching for the devil's mark, Namjoon made his way further inside the human club, scrunching his nose in loath. They all were a disgrace to their kind, drinking their hearts out and forgetting how to act. The demons mind fogged with anger, so much he almost missed the cursed sigil on an arm. Namjoon snapped out of his daze and went to do his job, collect the price of dealing with the devil.
“What the hell?!”the man shouted, voice drowned out by the loud music. He thrashed in Namjoons grip, not succeeding in getting away. Nothing would change his fate, death was unavoidable.
“The great Lucifer has sent me to collect the debt you hold him.” was the only thing Namjoon said as he dragged the kicking human, maddening every second which went by. He wanted his own missey to end and it would with this man's life.
The man fell to his knees, body chained in invisible metal as Namjoon stood before him with no remorse. There was still a small sound of music where they were, dunking like a running heart. Racing one arm, Namjoon spoke the words of doom, calling for the soul which were not the mans to keep. He knew the angels cried but the human made his own decision and he had to pay. Screams echoed through the walls, screams of bloody murder. A body fell limp against the bloody floor, no trace of a soul in it, empty of everything. Namjoon rolled his eyes, red lingering in them. Hopefully his night would be calm but knowing Lucifer, it wouldn't be the case. And he was right.
-
A mere hour after the first collecting was he sent out again, this time to a house which looked nice. Namjoon stepped through the mirror, stopping inside a bedroom with a sleeping girl. She didn't have the mark but she somehow held the energy of who he was claiming. This confused the demon as it had never happened before. She looked young, maybe around 20 years of age, unbothered by his presence. He must have come to the wrong room, fingers gracing the handle to her door as he walked out. Namjoon was sure that it was the right house, fairly sure that it was the same room too, but chose to look at the rest of the people in the house. He found the parents sleeping in the grand chamber, breathing relaxed, no mark on either of them. The demon had no clue what he should to because none of them were marked which meant he couldn't take their souls. When suddenly a woman walked through the door, standing in the bedroom of the parents, aura rotten as death itself.
“It’s the girl you’re after...She is the one you're here to get”she spoke with a voice worse than the lowest.”Take her”
“Why is that she is the one but has no mark?”he could see how irritation grew inside the woman, sensing the decomposition of her.
“Because I cursed that child when she crawled out of that whore!”she spat at him and Namjoon realized how the human had acted out of one of the sins, envy.”Take her now!”
The demon ignored her, moving back into the girls room. She was still sleeping, deep in slumber and unknowing of what she had been fated to. Fingers slowly caressed her cheek, warmth flooding his body. Namjoon actually took pity on the human, the human which didn't choose this. He had no right to take her as she wasn't marked, he couldn't take her soul due to it. So all he could do was hold a hand over her eyes and lift her body. The woman smiled wickedly as she looked at them, waiting for pain and blood. It never came, Namjoon slowly getting ready to return to hell.
“What are you doing?! Kill her!”
“I can't, human, she is not wearing the devil's mark but still belong to him in flesh. She will live while you will burn in hell” the woman had been waiting for the girls screams but it was hers which shrieked through the quiet house as Namjoon set fire to her body. Her soul would be consumed by the lowest of low and she would never know anything else than agony.
-
“Why did you bring an alive flesh bag?”Lucifer asked, his youthful face and ignorant sitting position on the throne had Namjoon rolling his eyes, the young prince grinning at it.”She didn't do anything”
“She may not be wearing your mark but she is yours in flesh and heart, envy making it this way…”Namjoon stood tall, eyes shining dark as obsidian. He had no wings or horns but he had the beauty of death, hair in lilac and silver hues.
“Don't be so formal Namjoonie..It’s so boring” the prince, the devil, the one and only Lucifer had a real name, a name which was his own and not shared with his ancestors. Jungkook rolled his eyes at the older bitter demon.”It’s like really boring”
“What do you wish happens to the human?”Namjoon ignored the boy bluntly, mind trailing back to the sleeping figure in his own bed, the safest place in hell for her.
“Don't care..Keep her if you want I have my own play thing”Jungkook hung his head over the arm to his throne, bangs falling of his forehead, nails being thoroughly inspected.
Namjoon bowed, turning and marching out of the grand hall, where Lucifer would call him as soon as he needed the collector. He made his way down corridors, avoiding every creature he could, the whole time thinking about the girl. She couldn't go back but Jungkook didn't wish to have her and Namjoon didn't want her either, remembering how irritating humans were.
“If I could curse your name, sun in the heaven, I would”
-
Waking up was weird, a heat which usually weren't present in your room making your skin hot. You sat up, blinking as black bedding fell of your shoulders. You weren't home, mind suddenly trying to remember what happened the day before. That’s until your eyes found a man sitting in a velvet chair, leg crossed over the other as fingers turned a page.
“Who are you?” you barely managed to whisper out your words, body shaking in fright. The stranger gazed up at you, book landing in his black jeans clothed lap. A frown was etched on his handsome face, orbs staring right through your soul.
“My name is Namjoon, human, and I am currently the one in charge of you”his voice was deep and hypnotising, you almost missed the meaning of his words.
“What?”Namjoon scowl became more prominent, irritation lingering in his features.
“Little one, you don't know anything about the world beyond your sight. You’re in hell, maybe due to injustice but still in hell..”
Your world stopped. Hell? He’s crazy, everything is crazy. It’s all a nightmare and you’ll wake up any second in your own home. Namjoon rolled his eyes, standing up after put his book away.
“You did not choose this fate but it is what it is.”he was about to leave when you quite literally fell out of the bed, eyes wide.
“What no!This can't be real!Hell?! Where are you going?!”all your questions made Namjoon groan, fingers coming up to massaged his temples. You didn't stop, mouth asking for everything. He finally snapped when you managed to get close.
“Sit down and be quiet!”the tone in his voice made you submit in an instance, figure shaking as you kneeled before him. It surprised him slightly, how easy you surrendered. Stirred feelings in him of sin and lust.”You’ll stay here like a good girl or see what hell really is”
Namjoon left with those words, slamming the door on his way out. Jungkook would hear about this, about all his complaints but he expected a mere smug look from the younger, maybe an unwanted comment.
-
Your eyes had dull slightly from the waiting but when the door opened where they shining again. The man which walked in wasn’t who you wanted him to be, instead someone younger with dark brown hair and the devil's grin.
“Oh..So you’re the little human who made Joonie so angry?” he crouched down, finger tilting up your chin and sending heat through your body.”I don't see why...You’re so obedient”
He didn't need to touch you to make a fire burn in your stomach, to make chivers run down your spine. Even if he was playful, was there dominance behind his blue eyes, a dominance which made your core drip. Jungkook could sense it, your arousal, and a part of him regret not taking you.
“Your highness” a groan escaped Jungkook as your eyes snapped up to stare at Namjoon, who looked all but pleased.”Respect the human”
“But Joonie, she’s so eager.”red hot flames bloomed over your cheeks, embrasement grown as Jungkook looked you dead in the eye with a special kind of grin.”Right, human? You’re eager for us.”
Namjoon grabbed the younger by his shoulders, pushing him out of the chamber, ignoring the small whine leaving Lucifers lips. The demon was beyond mad, pupils small and swinging in crismon.
“I’m sorry..”he merely nodded at your voice, trying to not let your lusty aura get to him but it was hard as you were still on your knees, having been waiting just like he said.
“Get up, go to bed and sleep.”you listened, legs aching and jelly like. Namjoon rolled his eyes, strong hands grabbing you and putting you down on the mattress.”Even if he calls you, don't go to him. Stay here and behave. Things will get ugly if you leave human”
Namjoon left you again but this time in pain because of arousal. You laid in bed, breathing in his scent and trying to not think about what was happening between your legs. It got worse and worse as time went by, a low voice whispering dirty things in your ear, asking if you shouldn't just cave for your disear, come to him. You played a dangerous game but if sin itself tried to convince you, was it so hard to understand your fall?
-
Jungkook sat up as you walked carefully through the arched doors, grinning at how you listened to him while defying Namjoon.
“Oh my little human is here? Come closer..I won't bite”you glanced around, watching the different statues and art pieces. Finally stopping before the boy, your body were already dripping for him.”Good girl”
His hands were a mere inch from you when someone threw the doors open, a growl echoing between the walls. Namjoon looked calm as he made his way down the red carpet, Jungkook smirking while you didn't look. It’s true he wanted to have you too but playing with the older was fun as well. No words were exchanged, you just suddenly stood beside Namjoon in his room, guilt eating at your heart.
“I thought I was clear when I told you to stay here and not give in to him” you shivered as he spoke, dread and excitement mixing with every breath.
“..I’m sorry”
“You have been a very bad girl...Don't bad girls deserve punishments?” gaze still lingered on the floor as Namjoon sat down in his chair, hands on either arm rest, leg open. You gulped, trying to calm the fire.”Kneel before me with your hands behind your back”
You fell down before him, head hanging down and arms like asked of you. Something cold and hard wrapped around your wrists making it so you couldn't move them. Namjoon smiled, a feeling of power flooding him with lust but he had to respect you, had not make sure.
“I told you to stay and you didn't listen...Do you want this?”it was a play and maybe you wouldn't understand the sincerity in its question, he just hope you would.”Answer”
“Yes..”the dominance in his voice had faltered for a second, warmth slipping through it and making you confused as to why he cared. You had no clue about what he was but he was not human.
“Do you or do you not?”he leaned forward, fingers gracing your cheek, staring into your soul.
“I do.”
“Good.”Namjoon leaned back again, reassured by your own words.”Let’s begin then”
The demon snapped his digits and your eyes widened when his big cock was pulled out of his pants. It was thicker than any other you had seen and it had more texture as well. He grabbed your chin, pulling you close to his member, thumb slowly stroking over your cheekbone.
“Suck…”he didn't have to ask twice. Slowly your lips parted to enclose on his cock, hollowing your cheeks.
Namjoon groaned, hands folding inside your hair to push you deeper on him. You struggled slightly to take all of him, finally gagging as his head touched the back of your throat. It made him swell in your mouth, saliva dripping down its side. He growled once more before coming undone between your lips.
“Swallow”it was bitter, his cum, salty. A small smile fell on his lips as he looked down at you, your body aching from your position and ties behind your back. “Good girl”
Being lifted up, Namjoon walked to the bed, dropping you to feel the soft sheets under your arms. He crawled over you, hands still behind your back. His eyes was a dark as the bloody wine, teeth shining white.
“What are you?”the question simmered in Namjoons mind, fingers gracing up your sides. He pondered for an answer, moving his lips to kiss the aorta, feeling the blood rush to him.
“I am no mere servant for the prince, as a matter of facts, I am the collector of debts, collector of souls.”he moved to bit lightly on the crock between your neck and shoulder.
“A demon?” Namjoon rolled his eyes, moving from you to stare with those eyes.
“Yes in your world, a demon”
You gulped, heat burning your limbs and everywhere he touched. Jaw slack, you closed your eyes as he dragged his finger down your stomach, shirt having moved up to your ribcage. Namjoon watched you with a close eye, seeing your face contract in what he imagined was unreached pleasure. He dipped inside your sleeping shorts, itching closer to your core. It was painfully slow, the pace he had, and you whined out without thinking. A smirk painted itself on his face, digits stopping nearby where you wanted them.
“Eager?..but bad girls doesn’t get what they want”he whispered by your ear, breath fanning over you. Tears of frustration dropped from your eyes, hands still behind your back.
“I’m sorry! Please touch me!I’m sorry”you caught his gaze, eyes glittering, while his soften. Namjoons thumb came to your cheek, drying the tears falling down.
His lips felt like heaven when he kissed your jaw, a contrast to where you were. Fingers were back by your dripping core, drawing circles over the clothed clit. You gasped, back arching from the bed to meet him. You wanted more, you needed more, and Namjoon seemed to take great pleasure in your desperation. When a finger entered you wet pussy, starts painted themself over your eyes. He moved it slowly out of you, fueling the ach and burn inside of you. It was no secret that you were already a mess of urgency but Namjoon started to lose his control as well. He pushed another finger inside of you, stretching your hole, movements no longer slow but rapid and building your orgam fast. Just to stop when the fall was by your reach. You mewled out from the loss of relief, trembling slightly.
“Should I grant you your wish even if you disobeyed me?” you were so out of it that you didn't care if you begged, you needed him inside you.
“Please! I’ll never do it again! I promise”
Namjoon didn't need to hear it twice, hiding his own eagerness by your pleading. He ripped both your shorts and painties of, hands making nothing of your shirt the second after. In a blink of an eye, he too out of his clothes. You didn't have time to ogle at his body, as his cock head pushed at your entrance. Moans and cries fell of your lips as he pounded into you, head arch down into the pillows. The demon moved like no man ever could, hands holding you bucking hips. He grunted over you, silencing a scream with his plush lips. Your kiss was sloppy, teeth clapping toughers as you couldn't keep quiet. The second he left your mouth were you howling out moans, throat becoming more sore. A want to touch him made you squirm in your restrictions, eyes squinting open to see him panting with sweat rolling down his brow bone.
“Can I touch you?!”the sentence came out like cries, Namjoon grating you right away.
Your arms circled around his neck, breast arching up into his chest, wrist aching. White colored your sight and the clenching of your pussy told the demon that you came, you came hard. Legs started to shake as he kept going, snapping into you sore core. He could feel his own release close, your inner walls milking him with everything he got. You moaned one last time, body falling deep in between the sheets. Namjoon pulled out of you, rolling to lay by your side. It was hard to keep your eyes open, sleep lulling you slowly with Namjoons steady breaths.
“Sleep you human with no other choice...Let the consequence come tomorrow”he whispered into your hair, arms pulling you against his chest. Namjoon wondered why he did it but let it be for just a second, unlike him, so unlike him.
